Junge Menschen wandern ab, Geschäfte und Schulen schließen, das soziale Leben wird immer weniger. WORKSHOP IV  | Making use of free spaces - providing a sense of purpose

In his award winning film "Over the Years", Nikolaus Geyrhalter has documented the development of a town after the shut-down of a factory. A fate that is becoming a growing problem for many towns around the Czech border. Young people emigrate, shops and schools are closing, the social life is slowly disappearing. This film sets the occasion to bring the people affected and initiators together in order to rethink locations anew with the help of Best Practice Examples like Hagenberg: connecting old craftsmanship with trend-setting technologies, design spaces for creative processes, form new production facilities for the textile industry and new financial concepts.
