2011 International Art from the Collection Infeld

September 10 – October 7, 2011
WEINSTADTmuseum

Exhibition

The French artist and wine merchant Jean Dubuffet indicated “Art Brut” as a formal language, which is original, raw, and non-conformist. This kind of art is created without any academic or art theoretical background. The producer of instrument strings Peter Infeld (1942-2009) was a tenor, writer, patron and versatile art collector, in whose collections well over 200 works by Art Brut artists can be discovered today. An exclusive selection by internationally renowned Art Brut artists was presented at the “WEINSTADTmuseum” in Krems, Austria: Anselme Boix-Vives, Camille Bombois, Gaston Chaissac, Bronislava Anatolevna Dubner, Madge Gill, Martha Grunenwaldt, Margarethe Held, Pavel Leonov, Michel Nedjar, Friedrich Schröder-Sonnenstern, Sava Sekulic, Josef Wittlich, Adolf Wölfli.
